Courses: “Political Culture of 21st Century Spain (SPAN 397)” and “Spanish Culture and Civilization (SPAN 211)”
In the “Spanish Culture and Civilization (SPAN 211)” course, we read the introduction to “En ruta con el común” to familiarize ourselves with the project’s main themes. Then, each student chooses a topic of interest, referred to as a “node”. Students watch a series of three video interviews (based on their area of interest), write a report about them on our blog, and exchange information/reactions/projects with other students in the class. We have a collective feedback session after each round of interviews.
In another class, “Political Culture of 21st Century Spain (SPAN 397)”, the Constellation of the Commons visited the class via Zoom to explain the philosophy of the Commons and the project. Afterwards, students reviewed the different nodes and the connections between them. They chose 1-2 areas of interest, watched a series of interviews, and wrote about them on our blog. Throughout the semester, students were asked to relate what they were learning from the Constellation to other class texts (e.g., “A la puta calle” by Cristina Fallarás).
