Unha Gran Burla Negra Association was born hand in hand with the practice of the Living Archive to compile those works that accompanied the social mobilization that took place in Galician society in protest against the management of the Prestige catastrophe. The Association has accepted the commitment to procure, guard, care for, study, catalog, exhibit, reflect on and mediate the artistic pieces, poems, images, texts and interventions of anonymous and signed testimonies produced by the same citizens who overflowed the streets and the media. during the months of the catastrophe.
In addition to an online and physical archive for open consultation, the Association organizes events, interventions and activities with the purpose of opening a collective reflection on the role those popular mobilizations and activists’ interventions have in the exercise of popular sovereignty.
